Why Steel Instead of Wood?
Pangea Audio’s LS300 speaker stand features an all-steel design. Most manufacturers make their speaker stands out of wood. But wood is a very poor material for speaker stands, because:
Wood has poor acoustic properties because it absorbs and stores energy Wood slowly releases stored energy, muddying the sound coming from your speakers
Although steel is more expensive than wood, steel has advantages for speaker stands: Steel doesn’t ‘hang onto’ energy like wood; it releases vibration very quickly A well-designed all-steel stand rigidly supports your speaker, improving image focus, reducing mid-range coloration, and tightening the bass
Triangular Design is Key
Triangular design is the secret to the LS300’s strength. The triangle is one of nature’s strongest shapes, which is why humans have been using triangles in architecture for thousands of years. The equilateral triangle – where all sides are equal and featured in the design of the LS300 stand – is the strongest triangular shape of all. It’s a key reason why the LS-300 supports your speakers so rigidly.
Powerful Support for Your Sound
Large-diameter Steel Support Columns
The LS300 stand features three large-diameter steel support columns coupled to steel plates at the top and bottom. In combination with the rigid triangular shape, this design offers an incredibly strong platform for great speaker performance.
One steel support column has openings at the top and the bottom for hiding speaker cables. Two of the columns can be filled with sand or steel shot for even better vibration damping.
Super-strong Steel Top and Bottom Plates
The Pangea Audio LS300 features a 6″ by 6″ steel top plate to match a wide range of compact or monitor-type speakers. It also has an extra heavy duty 9.75″ by 12″ bottom plate. These steel plates contribute to the strength of this rigid stand.
The Right Hardware Makes a Huge Difference
Nuts, bolts, spikes, and other hardware hold a stand together and make it perform well. Many manufacturers that use steel columns and steel plates coupling them with hardware that undermines the performance of the assembled stand.
The Pangea LS300 uses premium hardware. The oversize solid metal bolts rigidly couple the support columns to the base. This extra heavy hardware improves the speaker’s bass performance.
The LS300 comes complete with adjustable carpet-piercing bottom spikes for easy leveling and for isolating the stand from room vibration. Four soft rubber-like top pads are supplied for speaker isolation.

The LS300 is available in four heights. Choose the height that works best with your speakers and with your listening room.
